Let’s face it, when it comes to tryouts, you need to stand out! You need to be a player that is flying down the ice with a rocket hard shot, that can change a game with just one swing of the stick! You need to be a player that is strong on his skates, doesn’t get knocked down easily, and is able to keep up not only physically but also mentally so you can perform late in a game or a tryout when it matters the most!


Hockey is NOT an easy sport, and we take pride in that! It’s not the biggest or the strongest who makes the best teams anymore. You need to have the full package and you cannot take a shift off! You must be able to dig deep and be able to play like it is early in the first period, late in the 3rd!


No matter how you chalk it up, there is only one true way to keep up with the game’s best and that is by putting in the work off the ice! That is why we have developed the Tryout Prep Program to give you every edge possible right before tryouts! Not only will you make a better team this year, but this program will start building the foundation of becoming a more dominant player who gets more shift, more ice time, more points, and most importantly, a better opportunity to go farther in the sport that you love! 


At Durkin Sports Perfromance, we specialize in hockey performance and know the exact methodology to take an off-ice program and have it transfer to on ice performance. Our athletes have earned a combine $1.3 MILLION in athletic scholarships and that number is growing EVERY YEAR! Our Tryout Prep Program is the exact methodology that we use with our Pro and NCAA DI Player to prep them from camp! This isn’t some BS, Cookie Cutter Program that leaves you wanting more in the end! This is the real deal, based on real science to get you REAL Results! 


Skating lessons alone won’t make you faster. Shooting 100 pucks a day alone won’t make your shot any harder. In order to improve your on-ice speed and the power behind your shot, you have to build more muscle and then you have to train that muscle to be more explosive to truly improve performance! 


To best understand why this is, here is an example we use to help understand the importance of building new muscle is. If you buy a car from a dealer and you want it to be faster, you must improve the engine. It’s only going to get as fast as the engine will allow it to go. To get the car to go faster, you must improve what it came with. Your body is the same way. If you are not fast with what you currently have, you must improve the engine (muscles) in order to get faster.


That’s why off-ice training is so important to the on-ice game, and it doesn’t just end there!

We work on speed and explosiveness to give you the extra step to win races to the puck and get more breakaways! 


We work on absolute strength so you can win those battles for loose pucks and shoot the puck harder than you ever have before.


We work on total body control, so you are not only harder to knock down but have a better ability to knock an opponent off the puck to create more turnovers and scoring chances for your team! 


We also work on hockey specific agility so you can stop on a dime and change direction faster than you ever have before so you can give yourself a better opportunity to make a play that can change a game! 


We cover every competitive edge needed to take control of a game and make a massive difference in the outcome on the ice! This way we can lay a foundation and help make your next season your best one yet!

Last year with our tryout prep program, we had 27 kids do the program and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM MADE A BETTER TEAM! 6 of which made an AAA team for the very first time and 11 of them made an AA team for the very first time! Everyone else at least made 1 team better than the year before… That is a 100% success rate!

Our goal is to peak you for tryouts so you are going into them at the fastest, strongest and biggest you can be!
